POOL CLASSES – WATER
AQUA CARDIO
This energizing class will elevate your heart rate improving cardiovascular strength & endurance.

AQUA FITNESS A fun & effective way to train the cardiovascular system & improve muscle tone in the water.

AQUA SCULPT Using the water as resistance, participants will strengthen & tone their bodies in this invigorating water workout! Equipment may be used.

WATER RUNNING Get your heart pumping as you jog & run in the water, using the water’s resistance as a challenging way to train in the water.

MASTERS SWIM Aimed to refine our swimmers’ techniques, strategies & training methods. This class is perfect for cross-training, improving your swimming ability & train for a triathlon.

MIND BODY CLASSES: LAND
*BALL-ATES: A unique pilates class using the stability ball in order to enhance the workout. Core strength & flexibility are highlighted.

*CORE FUSION: This class is a great compliment to your workout. Improving pelvic stability & one’s overall flexibility are great ways to improve muscle endurance, strength & power.

*FLOW YOGA: Flow yoga unites & balances mind, body & spirit through naturally flowing postures, breath & meditation. Balancing physical challenge with relaxation & release of tension.

*HATHA YOGA: Classical Hatha Yoga uses postures (Asana), conscious breathing (pranayama) & mental focus to develop awareness, strength, flexibility & relaxation.

*POWER PILATES: (GXD) Pilates is a method of total-body conditioning developed by Joseph Pilates, which emphasizes neutral alignment of the spine & core control during movement. Participants will experience increased flexibility, strength, muscle tone, energy & improved mental concentration.

TAI CHI: Tai Chi can be through of as a moving form of yoga & meditation combined, great for improving one’s balance & coordination.

CYCLE
SPINNING
: (GXD) Our indoor cycling classes will challenge you to climb hills, sprint to the finish line & make you sweat! Spinning appeals to a diverse clientele to first time cyclists to ironman triathletes. Studies show participants can burn up to 600 calories in a 45 minute Spinning class.

*** NEW *** ULTRA SPINNING: (GXD) This class is aimed at the advanced cyclist who wants to work on their endurance, speed & strength. This class is 60 – 75 minutes of cycling with 15 minutes of core and stretch. This class is coming to the Fitness Institute on Tuesday April 7th, arrive early to reserve your bike!

GROUP EXERCISE CLASSES – LAND
CARDIO GROOVE: Dance off the calories with Shelly to Hip/Hop, R&B, Reggae, Latin, Calypso with fun & easy to follow dance moves.

CARDIO PUMP: Join this popular lunchtime class that combines muscular conditioning workout, designed for all levels.

*FLEXIBLE BODY: Stretching is often overlooked but is important part of a balanced fitness regimen. Increased flexibility helps develop better posture & prevents injury.

*FUNCTIONAL MOVEMENT: With the help of small equipment this workout will challenge balance & coordination, increase strength & awareness to perform everyday activities with ease.

GENTLE FIT: A low impact workout but never low intensity! Take it high or low in this cardio & weights class at your own personal intensity.

KARATE: This specialty class is without charge & allows participants to be graded towards achieving belt levels. Beginners are always welcome.

NIA: Combining non-impact aerobics, dance & martial arts. This blend of aerobic conditioning, balance & flexibility will have you sweating & having fun.

POWER PUMP: Join this 60-minute class to strengthen your total body using free weights, body bar & a step. Research has proved that muscle mass will rev up your metabolism & enable your body tot burn more calories at rest. Feel the “power” of working out with weights.

RESIST-A BALL: (GXD) Strengthen & tone your body using the stability ball & free weights.

SOCA SWEAT: Join Anthony to jump up & win to escape from the everyday hustle & get your body moving to the sounds of the Islands.

*** NEW *** ZUMBA: (GXD) Ditch the workout & Join the Party! Zumba fuses hyptonic latin rhythms & easy to follow moves featuring interval training sessions of fast & slow, resistance training is combined to tone & sculpt your body. Join your Group Exercise Director, Catherine for a class that is taking the fitness industry by storm, as seen on Good Morning America, Breakfast Television & Shape magazine.

*** NEW *** ZUMBA PUMP: (GXD) Combine all the latin dancing elements with great beach body sculpting moves and you’ve got Zumba Pump to tighten & tone your body to get your beach body ready.

(*) For classes with an asterisk, participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga/ pilates mats.
